At Network Midlands we like to try and keep the cost of developing your website to a minimum. We do this by using open source software. Open source software is often free to use and is developed collaboratively and is suitable for commercial use (for more on open source software see this Wikipedia article).
For website development we use one of three open source content management systems – WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. All of these have an extensive collection of free and paid for plug-ins (or extensions) that can be used to extend the functionality of your website – from contact forms to full e-commerce integration. Each has strengths and weaknesses and we will discuss with you which is the best for your needs.
WordPress is great for Blogs and smaller website. It is easy to develop custom software for Joomla and Drupal, and Drupal is very good if you have multiple people maintaining and developing different parts of your website
Network Midlands is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Joomla Project or Open Source Matters. The Joomla logo is used under a limited license granted by Open Source Matters the trademark holder in the United States and other countries.
