New Nominet .uk domains to launch 10th June
Nominet – the organisation that manages all the .uk domain names – have announced that from 10 June 2014, shorter, simpler .uk domain names will be available for the first time.
All existing domains including .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk will continue to run as normal. There will just be another option to choose from.
If you already have a domain name ending in .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk, Nominet will reserve the corresponding .uk domain name for you for 5 years.
Nominet have warned against misleading offers to pre-register or reserve .uk domain names as registrants will be contacted directly by Nominet
